Beloved RunTheBluegrass Family and Friends!

I am so very happy to announce that a wonderful path forward has arrived!

After four difficult years for the racing community and for me personally, since RTB was nearly my whole life, this fall has provided a breath of fresh air! Lexington’s longest-running (no pun intended!) running store is buying RunTheBluegrass and will continue it on, without missing a step! (And I will still be involved, behind the scenes! More on that later, though.)

John’s Run/Walk Shop, which first opened its doors in Lexington in 1978, has been a staple in my hometown since my childhood. When they reached out to me back in the fall, I immediately felt a renewed hope I haven’t felt since early 2020. Now, having worked with Melody Marshall, owner, and her son Riley, the General Manager, I have come to know their own shared deep personal connections to our hometown, to its heritage... and biggest of all, I’d say, to Lexington’s future.

I will share a lot more on our popular RunTheBluegrass Facebook page between now and December 12th, on which day John’s plans to open 2025 registration with early bird pricing! And for all you who are already familiar with John’s Iron Horse Half Marathon in neighboring Midway, this means starting in 2025, RunTheBluegrass and Iron Horse will finally combine to be a beautiful Spring + Fall Series!

2025’s Race Date is Saturday, May 17 at Talon Winery!
